Barns Bulletin #4

The first bulletin of 2019, we start with new faces, new clients and awards.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So it’s 2019 already and we’ve hit the ground running at Freestyle. We’ve got new clients, new starters, new office layout and even a new hot water tap for speedy tea runs. Keep reading to find out more about how January went at the Barns.

We made it to Lapland!🎅

First things first, a huge congratulations to everyone at Freestyle who contributed their blood, sweat and tears to helping us reach Lapland via bike and raise over £600 for Myton Hospice in the process. Last year Myton Hospice supported more than 1,800 people and their families, in three hospices, via patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. Thanks to all the generous donors, Myton Hospice will be able to continue to help thousands more people in our local community in 2019.

A Freestyle farewell…

Friday saw the last day for our Head of Delivery, Katy, who has been with us for almost 6 years. We are all sad to see her go and wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Of course we had to have a great send off involving some amazing food and a few drinks. You will be missed Katy!

New Faces at Freestyle

We also had some new colleagues join our team at the barns this month, introducing:

Becki Hemming

Insight Manager

Having left London looking for new and exciting opportunities outside the M25 bubble, Becki will be integral in defining the strategic direction for Freestyle’s growing portfolio of manufacturing and technology brands. We are glad to have her and excited to grow our agency’s insight abilities!

Lucie Baker-Wyse

Designer

Also joining the team for 2019 we have Lucie, a dog obsessed, first class graduate from the University of Loughborough, with design experience from other top Warwickshire agencies. We are excited to have Lucie join our design team and contribute to our unique culture in her own way.

Georgia Watkins

Digital Executive

Finally, Georgia, a Psychology graduate from De Montfort University has joined our Site Support team as we expand our client base and offering. Georgia loves travelling and photography and has lived all around the UK and Germany. We’re sure she will be an excellent addition to our team.

And the first Sheepie of 2019 goes to...

This week, we had our monthly ‘Sheepies’ meeting where we went over all the exciting projects and clients we will be working with in 2019. We also had the presentation of the ‘Sheepie’ award which, this month, was won by Mr Joe Cadden! Joe has gone above and beyond by taking on projects left and right, helping us all deal with people being out of the office and on holiday. Thanks to Joe, everything is continuing to run smoothly here at the Barns. A well deserved win!

Speaking of awards...

Early this month we got the news that Freestyle’s been named one of the top 75 B2B marcomms agencies in the UK. Sitting at no. 58, we share the B2B Marketing UK Agencies Benchmarking Report 2019 with some fantastic British agencies.

On a second note, it was our first time entering The Business Desk’s Business Masters Awards 2019, and we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the “Small Business” category. The Awards were created to recognise the achievements of firms from all sectors across the West Midlands region. We’ll find out the result on March 7th! Wish us good luck.

This month, our most liked picture on Instagram was this snap of Lola, who paid the office a visit earlier in the month! 🐶

That’s all for this month, but stay tuned as there will be lots of exciting news coming up as we get our teeth into 2019!
